WHAT SHOULD I BRING AND WEAR TO THE CLASS?
WHAT PROTECTION DO I NEED? WILL I GET INJURED?
Bring water and sun protection e.g. hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, especially on Sunny days. You are recommended to wear comfortable clothes for outdoor activities, and flat sole shoes for skating (skate shoes). Running shoes, platforms, boots, and thick sole shoes are not recommended.
Safety is always our first priority. However, like any other sports, there is a risk of getting hurt. Protections such as knee pads and wrist guards are recommended. If you need to purchase or rent one, please reach out to us while booking a course. If you feel unwell during the lesson, the lesson will end early and the fee is not refundable.
I DON'T HAVE A LONGBOARD, CAN I JOIN THE LESSON?
MAY I HAVE MORE DETAILS ON THE VENUE?
We provide high-quality longboards for participants on the Basic Riding Class so you do not need to bring a longboard unless you so wish. For other courses, you are required to bring your own longboard as it is essential for optimal learning results.
Most of the venues would be football courts located in Fo Tan, the Kowloon, or Wan Chai district. Some may have toilets, lockers (without locks), and car parks nearby. The exact location may vary according to lesson contents.
WHAT IS YOUR ARRANGEMENT UNDER BAD WEATHER?
Longboard Island does everything possible to make the lesson or event available as scheduled, however as soon as we know the venue is not safe for use, you will be informed as soon as possible. If you have not heard from us please always assume the lesson is on.
On a rainy day, the instructor may move the lesson to a covered area if needed and possible, and the training content will be amended accordingly. If the group/private lesson is interrupted by adverse weather conditions and forced to cancel, we do not guarantee a make-up session. More details please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
CAN I GET A REFUND OR TRANSFER TO THE OTHER COURSE?
All lessons are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please check the course details with the instructor to make sure you are able to attend the right course before you proceed to the payment. No make-up lesson will be arranged for absences. See Terms & Conditions for our cancellation, and refund policy.
CAN I HAVE A TRIAL LESSON?
Our lessons are structured to let learners progress. To ensure a better learning experience we do not offer trial lessons. You may consider booking a private lesson instead.
DO YOU HAVE LESSONS FOR KIDS?
We only offer longboarding lessons for 8 years old or above.
DO YOU HAVE SKATEBOARDING CLASS? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LONGBOARDING AND SKATEBOARDING?
No. We are specialising in longboarding. To know more about what may suit you more, please refer to Is longboarding better?.
WHAT’S YOUR ARRANGEMENT FOR EPIDEMIC PREVENTION?
All equipment is cleaned every time after use. Our instructors will wear masks at all times during the lesson or event. Please note that outdoor exercise is exempted from the mask wearing regulation in Hong Kong. However, participants are suggested to maintain good personal hygiene to prevent the spread of disease.
